At the age of 10, she was asked to participate in her studio’s competition team and remained a member of the team for the next four years. With the aim of sharing her love and knowledge of dance through teaching and choreographing, Jacquelyn hopes to continue to provide inclusive dance opportunities for people of all ages and abilities.Ĭaitlin began dancing at the age of five at Chickee’s Dance World in Worcester, MA. Jacquelyn is an ABT® Certified Teacher, who has successfully completed the ABT® Teacher Training Intensive in Pre-Primary through Level 3 of the ABT® National Training Curriculum. Jacquelyn’s studies at Skidmore culminated in a final capstone that she presented in the form of a three-part dance lesson plan for preschoolers. While at Skidmore, she performed works by Robert Battle, Erika Pujič, Mary Harney, and Denise Limoli, as well as choreographed her own pieces. in Dance with a concentration in Dance Research Studies. Jacquelyn continued her studies at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, where she graduated with a B.S. Before going to college, Jacquelyn was accepted into American Ballet Theatre’s Summer Intensive, where she spent a month dancing in Texas. In high school, she also pursued training in various forms of modern dance and jazz. Jacquelyn “Jacqui” was born and raised in New York City, where she was classically trained in ballet from the age of 5 under the direction of Elfried Merman, former soloist with Ballet Russe. The Dance Lab has been a life-long dream of Mary Beth’s and she is beyond excited to share her passion and knowledge of dance with her students! She also continues to expand her knowledge of dance through continuing education courses. Along with her dance training, Mary Beth was also a certified Zumba instructor for two years. One of her former students recently performed on Broadway! She was also a consultant to the Head Coach of the Ice Mice Dance Team, which performed at AHL Hockey Games. Throughout those years her dancers have won many awards including placement and Entertainment Awards for her choreography. Mary Beth has owned and operated The Dance Lab for the past 7 years and has been teaching dance for the last 20 years. She is constantly looking for new and creative ideas to keep everyone who walks into The Dance Lab engaged and having fun. Mary Beth continues to expand her dance education and teaching skills by regularly attending seminars and conventions with some of the most knowledgeable and talented people in the industry. During the same time, she studied ballet and modern at Skidmore College. Mary Beth also performed as a backup dancer in a Jessica Simpson concert in Syracuse, NY.Īfter graduating from high school, Mary Beth attended Siena College where she was a member of the Siena College Dance Team for four years and served as Captain of the Dance Team for her junior and senior year. She has won numerous awards at national dance competitions. Throughout her years of training, she has taken master classes under renowned dancers and choreographers such as, Mia Michaels, tWitch, Mandy Moore, Savion Glover, Gus Giordano, Frank Hatchett and many others. She is formally trained in ballet, tap, jazz, modern, lyrical and hip hop. Mary Beth began dancing at the age of four and her love and enthusiasm for the art has grown ever since.
